Lack of Reliable & Instant Tenant Background Checking System

The traditional tenant screening process, which only requires tenants to provide payslips and bank statements as proof of income, is not reliable. Some tenants may fake the income in the document, even if the income figure is correct, it doesn’t mean the tenant will make rental payments on time. This gives rise to some “rogue tenants” and harms the interest of landlords.

Poor Property Management & No Rental Income Protection

The rental yield of Hong Kong property is only around 1-2% per year. Most of the landlords are looking for the potential capital gain of the property rather than the passive rental income. Property investment needs active management, ranging from maintenance to rental disputes. This brings lots of inconvenience to the landlord.

Privacy Issues When Providing Income Prove

The traditional rental process requires potential tenants to provide landlords with not only payslips but also tax returns or even bank statements as proof of income. It involved some privacy issues. Tenants might not want to let the owner know how much they exactly earn.
